Our Mission in Action
As a mission-driven consulting organization, Commonwealth Medicine is dedicated to improving public health locally, nationally, and internationally. Our employees demonstrate our organizational values through their work at Commonwealth Medicine — and their commitment to serving others extends beyond the end of the work day.
- Helping veterans transition to civilian jobs
The process of entering the civilian workforce can be a challenge for troops returning to Massachusetts after deployment. Our Associates Program for Veterans offers year-long employment and training that eases the difficulty of the transition. - Brightening life for children in foster care
Each May, during National Foster Care Month, employees of Commonwealth Medicine and its affiliates collect thousands of items for children and youth living in foster care. - Volunteering to support Special Olympics athletes
Since 2008, Commonwealth Medicine employees have joined colleagues at UMass Medical School in working with the Special Olympics to improve health care access and quality for individuals with intellectual disabilities. - After-hours: Giving new immigrants a boost
When an employee met several immigrant families without basic necessities, her colleagues immediately stepped up and contributed the things they needed. - Providing warmth to those in need while knitting together
A social knitting group in our Disability and Community Services unit is making blankets for a charity that will distribute them to those in need.
