Carol Gyurina’s expertise is in managing complex projects, especially those related to behavioral health, health care analytics, and in program model development and implementation. Her work has included developing Medicaid State Plan Amendments and model contracts for Health Home initiatives, analyzing data and issues regarding the affordability of health care in Massachusetts, and developing options for integrated behavioral and physical health managed care on behalf of county mental health authorities in Washington and Oregon. 

Previously, as Deputy Director of MassHealth’s Office of Behavioral Health, Gyurina managed the development of new policies and programs, developed and monitored managed care contracts, developed payment strategies for behavioral health programs, and directed the work of analysts and actuaries.  Earlier in her career she analyzed health care policy, pricing strategies, and health plan operations at the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership and at Tufts Health Plan.

Gyurina holds a master's degree in management of human services from the Heller School at Brandeis University and a bachelor's degree with an individual concentration in religion from the University of Massachusetts.
