With expertise in enterprise-wide program management, business and information technology, and strategic analysis and planning, Dean P. Briggs joined UMass Medical School in 2010.
Mr. Briggs manages strategic projects for MassHealth (the Massachusetts Medicaid program), the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and other state and regional agencies. He also has directed a three-year program for UMass Memorial Health Care to implement the ICD-10 coding system across six hospitals and a 1,000-member physician group practice.
Mr. Briggs previously held program management roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, First Marblehead Educational Resources, Fidelity Investments, and Applix. He is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt by the American Society for Quality.
Mr. Briggs received his doctorate from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandies University, his master’s degree from Simmons College, and his bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
