Guy Emery has worked on health care financing initiatives at UMass Medical School since 2004.
In his current role, he is responsible for Medicaid administrative claiming on behalf of the University and provides consultative services to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services in regards to Medicaid reimbursement. In addition, he is accountable for the completion of yearly cost reports and rate calculations for state operated facilities and community services provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Combined, this work supports more than $1 billion in annual revenue for the Commonwealth.
Emery has more than 20 years of experience in state financing encompassing all aspects of the revenue cycle. Prior to coming to the Medical School, he had worked for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health as the Director of Accounting and Reporting for its central Massachusetts area.
Emery received his bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University.
