Jay Flanagan is the Director of Quality Improvement and Transformation for the Southern New England Practice Transformation Network. His primary role is supporting the efforts of the Quality Improvement Advisor team in providing leadership to the optometry practices they serve. His team improves the delivery of healthcare to patients and communities by focusing on healthcare outcomes and consistent improvement in the quality of care delivered by providers of all licensure levels.
Before joining the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Flanagan was the assistant dean of Brown University’s healthcare programs. In that position, Flanagan oversaw the Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership degree program in Brown’s School of Professional Studies.
Flanagan has almost 30 years of experience in health care. In the past, he worked as a health care consultant as president of his own practice, Global Health Group LLC. The group focused on the development, operation and acquisition of outpatient ancillary services for hospitals, health systems and physician clients.
Flanagan received his executive Masters in Healthcare Leadership from Brown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross.
