John Moreschi, JD, joined the Center for Health Law and Economics as a Senior Policy Analyst for Health Law in 2018. He brings experience in legislation and policy and in working with advocates, government agencies and other stakeholders at both the state and federal levels.
Most recently, Moreschi served as an Assistant Senate Counsel in the Massachusetts Senate’s Office of Senate Counsel. There, he reviewed legislation on a range of issues, including legislation relative to substance use and health care costs, to ensure constitutionality and functionality. He also advised Senators and staff on legal and legislative matters as they arose.
Prior to his time in the Office of Senate Counsel, Moreschi served as Counsel to Congresswoman Katherine Clark in the Massachusetts Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. As Counsel, he worked on legislation and other efforts to help vulnerable populations, with a focus on measures to protect children from abuse, improve the criminal justice system and address the opioid crisis. Moreschi also served as the Congresswoman’s point-person on her work as Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary in the state Senate and as a member of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology in the House.
Moreschi received his law degree from Boston College Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Merrimack College.
