Justin Peristere oversees the school’s Clinical Pharmacy Services operational branches. He supports programs including Massachusetts Medicaid (MassHealth DUR), Health Safety Net, USRxCare, and Allied Health. He applies his call center management expertise and effective infrastructure development to provide clients with the most efficient business models. His team of over 30 pharmacists and 15 pharmacy associates are responsible for reviewing Prior Authorizations for multiple clients and providing call center support for MassHealth pharmacy and physician providers. In addition, his team supports member outreach intiatives that include therapeutic interchanges, adherence improvement, and Star Rating enhancements.
Since joining CPS, he has developed client and medication specific reports to identify potential areas of claim discrepancies and cost avoidance, instituted reporting measures to identify Prior Authorization coding inaccuracies, participated in research studies, and presented to MassHealth’s DUR Board.
Under his direction, the Clinical Pharmacy Services call centers consistently exceed industry standards by emphasizing professional customer service, streamlined processes and efficiencies in workflow, as well as ongoing quality assurance.
Peristere worked in the community pharmacy setting for over 20 years prior to joining Clinical Pharmacy Services. During this time, he worked at an independent pharmacy which allowed him to heavily focus on personalized patient care. He received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
