Matthew Hemberger oversees the Enhanced Coordination of Benefits program at Commonwealth Medicine, which provides third party liability benefit coordination case management on behalf of the Massachusetts Medicaid Program. These functions save the Commonwealth over $60 million annually.
Previously, Hemberger held roles supporting benefit coordination and recovery efforts at Health Care Finance Solutions within Commonwealth Medicine.
Prior to joining UMass Chan Medical School in 2007, Hemberger worked in patient access and transplant services at Massachusetts General Hospital for 5 years.
Hemberger has more than 20 years of health and human services program management and operations experience and has extensive knowledge of third party liability and public program eligibility systems and processes. He has numerous accomplishments within his career, including the Commonwealth's Annual Performance Recognition Award (team award) and the Autism Insurance Resource Center Champion Award in 2016. Hemberger received a bachelor's degree in Health Policy from Providence College.
