Since joining UMass Chan Medical School in 2005, Sherry Campanelli has developed and authored policies and procedures, and researched new and existing federal and state laws to ensure high-quality disability decisions for our disability evaluation and determinations clients. She also has managed the unit providing expert testimony for disability appeals.
Campanelli has more than 20 years of senior executive experience in disability determination, state public assistance, and vocational rehabilitation programs. She co-authored a number of technical reports for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and provided expert consultation to improve their Medicaid disability determination process.
Prior to joining UMass Chan Medical School, Campanelli led the Division of Individual and Family Support Services in the Rhode Island Department of Human Services. She also served as administrator of the Rhode Island Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, where she focused on consumer-directed services and developing supported employment options for those with the most severe disabilities.
Campanelli earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Rhode Island.
