Bill Lewis oversees structured process improvement efforts resulting in better timeliness and cost outcomes. He developed budget reporting and projection tools to ensure effective use of resources. Lewis also led a senior management workgroup that developed enhanced quality assurance, program evaluation, and benchmarks for the disability determination program.
Lewis co-authored a number of technical reports for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and worked with staff on monitoring budgets and performance on efforts to assist the New Hampshire Disability Determination Unit with backlog reduction. He also led a team that implemented case development services for Medicaid applications for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Prior to joining UMass Medical School in 2003, Lewis led administrative health care management services at Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals and clinics in Massachusetts and Florida.
Lewis received a bachelor’s degree in communications, a master’s in business administration, and a certificate in health care management from Boston University. He also has a certificate in computer programming and systems analysis.
