Students get hands-on introduction to health careers at UMass Medical School leadership conference

Two hundred sixty-seven high school and college students from across the state vied in 28 competitions, networked with health professionals and participated in hands-on introductions to a variety of health care careers in the 2015 MassAHEC HOSA State Leadership Conference April 11 at UMass Medical School.

The sixth annual conference included a National Institutes of Health scientist working in population health, who participated via the Internet, and a keynote address by practicing Boston family physician Pablo Hernandez Itriago, MD, MHCM, FAAFP, assistant professor of family medicine at UMass Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine.
